Planet O-Live Academy, the project promoting innovation and sustainability for agricultural businesses. Luca Sebastiani, full professor at the Sant'Anna School, speaks at the webinar "Concrete Tools for Sustainable Olive Growing"

Understanding how a concrete model of sustainable agriculture applied to one of the symbolic supply chains of Made in Italy is created: this is the aim of the webinar “Concrete Tools for Sustainable Olive Growing” organized for Tuesday, July 15, at 3:00 p.m. by Planet O-live Academy, the project supported by Costa d'Oro and promoted by Confagricoltura, Assoprol, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, with its Institute of Plant Production, and the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences of the University of Perugia, to understand the problems faced by businesses, share solutions, and help producers grow in a sustainable way.
The webinar will be attended by Luca Sebastiani, Full Professor of General Arboriculture and Tree Cultivation at the School's Institute of Plant Production, who will address the topic “Italian olive growing is going through a critical phase: declining production, rising costs, obsolete facilities.” Maurizio Servili, Full Professor of Food Science and Technology at the University of Perugia, will then explain ‘How can we reverse this trend and build a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable production model?’.
The webinar will also be an opportunity to learn about the initiatives that the Planet O-live Academy Project provides to support olive growers in embarking on new paths of sustainable olive growing, learning how to renew facilities, intensify production, and develop precision farming techniques. Another topic that will be addressed in the discussion will be the sustainable management of by-products from the mechanical extraction of virgin olive oils: economic and environmental aspects.
Registration is open to all interested parties. To register for the webinar, please register for free at planetolive.com and proceed with the registration process.
